October 1, 2018 –  After unsuccessfully attempting to sell their estate in 2016, along with doubts of achieving anything even close to their asking price of $1,375,000, the Burlingame Family turned to JLH.

When the Burlingame Family approached our company, JOHNSON LAND & HOME, LLC FARM AND RANCH GROUP to sell their beautiful home in Sherman, we committed to NOT roll out the offering until it was properly staged and 100% ready to sell. We went to work.

Staging- The JLH Crew, Laurie, Eliana, Eden, Rebekah, Annabeth and William Johnson, all contributed to the effort in removing excess items from the Colonial style home. This included personal items, animal heads, and religious symbols, creating a “neutral atmosphere”, where potential buyers could envision themselves in the home. It can sometimes be challenging for a family to put their trust in a realtor to accomplish this extremely important task, and most realtors won’t suggest staging a client’s home. In this particular case, JLH was able to save the Burlingame Family upwards of $13,000 by staging the home ourselves, as opposed to hiring an independent stager. The Burlingame Family were very accommodating in allowing us to “take the reins” and get their home ready to sell.

PhotographyJLH utilizes who we think is one of the best photographers in the industry, Ken Vaughn. Ken was able to capture everything the home had to offer, from the interior decorating, to the landscaping outside, to the exceptional gardens. Ken even grabbed an image of Rebekah and Annabeth Johnson paddling their kayaks across the offering’s lake.

Inspection– We at JLH believe that pre-inspecting the home cuts down on closing time, and more importantly, gives the prospective buyer a sense of calm as the decision to purchase or not purchase plays out. We always encourage a buyer to have the home inspected by their own people as well.

When preparation and opportunity come togetherOnce the Burlingame home was staged, photographed, and ready to show, JLH stepped back and let the magic happen. The first showing brought an offer. The second showing brought an offer that the family accepted and after a 15-day option period, we closed.
